In addition to my portfolio and gallery, I sometimes feel inspired to share the process of learning new software or techniques. Here you'll find a combination of tutorials, news and image/scene breakdowns.

IDSA Intl. 2016

A return to my old stomping grounds...

A while ago, I had the pleasure of attending the 2016 IDSA International Conference in Detroit, Michigan. I was there for work to attend some customer visits and to demo KeyShot for IDSA attendees. The conference was held at the Detroit Renaissance Center Marriott. It's been about 5 years since I'd visited this building and spent any real time in Detroit. I spent nearly 5 yeas living in Detroit while attending CCS for Industrial Design.

While my pictures don't summarize the event wholly, I really enjoyed wandering around the behemoth that is the Renaissance Center as the building is enormous and has some really interesting architecture. For those not familiar, the RenCen is owned by General Motors and is the company's global headquarters. It's also the tallest all-hotel skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere. At 5.55 Million square feet, the RenCen is one of the world's largest commercial buildings. The first image in the slide show is a view from the room I stayed in, just more than half-way up the building.

As a whole, the event was fun offered lots of opportunities to talk with KeyShot users and help them gain a better understanding of how the software can improve their business. The International IDSA conferences definitely have a different feeling than the regional conferences.
